How to Configure QuickTime Settings for Smooth Video Playback on LEB2

  • Updated

Mac users frequently encounter issues where videos recorded with QuickTime Player fail to play on LEB2 because they are encoded in HEVC. To ensure your videos play perfectly on LEB2, follow these steps to check, export, and convert your files:

Step 1: Exporting Files from QuickTime Player

  1. Record your screen as usual (File > New Screen Recording).

  2. Once recorded, go to File > Export As > select your desired resolution (e.g., 1080p or 720p).

  3. Check and select the encoding format (depending on your macOS version):

  • In the export dialog, select Greater Compatibility (H.264) (Do not select Smaller File Size / HEVC).

  • If your system version does not offer a codec choice, it will automatically save as HEVC (H.265). You will need to convert the file in the next step.

Step 2: Verifying the Video Codec (Before Uploading)

Before uploading your file to LEB2, verify the format using either of these methods:

  • Method 1 (via Finder): Right-click the video file select Get Info  check Codecs under the More Info section.

  • Method 2 (via QuickTime Player): Open the video in QuickTime Player > press Command + I (Inspector) > check the Format field.

Verification Results:

  • Ready to Upload: Displays H.264, AAC

  • Needs Conversion: Displays HEVC (H.265) or other codecs

Step 3: Converting Existing HEVC Files

If your inspection shows HEVC (H.265), convert the file before uploading. [Click here] to read the full conversion guide. >>
