When grading assignments through an Assessment Activity, if you encounter limitations with font size or document display space, you can use these guidelines to make the grading process more convenient and seamless.

 1. Collapse the left thumbnail pane (PDF Preview Pane)

If you want to increase the width of the document page, click the Hamburger icon (Toggle sidebar) in the top left corner of the PDF toolbar to hide the page thumbnail pane on the left. You can click the same button again to bring this pane back.

 2. Zoom in/out for clarity (Zoom in / Zoom out)

In the dark toolbar at the top of the PDF viewer, there is a + button to enlarge the text or images, and a - button to reduce the size. Additionally, you can click on the percentage number to adjust the zoom level as needed.

 3. Collapse or expand the right grading pane

You can collapse or expand the assessment pane on the right side to allow the student's document to fill more of the screen by clicking the icon

Tips❗ In case of a large volume of grading

If it is inconvenient to grade students one by one directly in the system, instructors can use the following methods to reduce grading time:

  • Download assignments for the entire class
Instructors can download all submitted student files at once to view them on a computer or print them out for manual grading. See how here.
  • Download a template to fill in scores in Excel
You can download a template file to enter scores in Excel outside the system, then upload all the scores back at once. The system will update the scores immediately. See how here.
