" What to prepare before starting a new semester? "
How to Import Course Information to LEB2
Firstly, check the accuracy of your course information before importing it through LEB2. You can read the steps via How to Import Course Information to LEB2. If you have understood and already completed it, you can carry on to the next step.
Import class
After your course information has been completed, you need to import the classroom on LEB2. The information that gets sent to NewACIS including the students' names who have enrolled your course, will be updated through LEB2 automatically with in 1 hour after the enrollment. All you have to do is to log in to LEB2 and import the class.
Steps to import class
- Click "Import Class"
- Select the semester
- Select the class
- Click "Import"
Note:
- The imported class will be displayed as Draft Classes. Instructors must click "Publish Class" to make the class accessible to students.
- The imported class will include learning outcomes from the curriculum and the student roster.
- The LEB2 system pulls course data from the NewACIS system. Therefore, if instructors need to create a new class that is not initially linked to NewACIS data, they should contact the LEB2 team for assistance in setting up the class.
Clone plan
In case you wish to use the same teaching plan as the previous semester, you can simply clone plan to the new class in the new semester without needing to create a new one. The process is outlined in the article How to Clone Plan.
Here are 5 items that come with a class after cloning the plan:
- Learning Outcomes
- Assessment Activities
- Learning Activities
- Surveys
- Learn It Lessons
Note:
- Cloning plan is to copy ALL information from the original classroom. You can select the activity. If you want to copy only the activity, you can do it by selecting "Clone quiz"
- Managing the same class but in a different semester by using "Import Learn It" feature for the easier management on reusing the same videos without uploading the new ones.
Publish class
After you have completed designing the teaching plan and be ready to start teaching, you can publish class on LEB2 so that the students can see and access the class.
Steps to publish class
- Log in to LEB2
- Select Current Class tab
- Select the class you want to publish
- Click "Publish Class"
Note: After the imported classes have been published, they will be displayed as Published Classes
Manage the class you no longer use.
There are some classes you don't use anymore from the previous semester but they are still shown in your class dashboard. If you don't need them, there 2 ways for the management.
1. Delete Class : This method removes a class that is no longer being taught or was imported incorrectly, returning it to the Import Class button as before. Any activity data created within the class (if any) will also be deleted.
Note: Only the Class owner can delete the class. If there is a teaching team with multiple members, the instructor must remove all members before the class can be deleted.
2. Leave class :This method is akin to permanently removing the class from the system. Once the instructor leaves a class that is no longer being taught, the class will no longer appear in the instructor's Class list.
Steps to leave class
- Log in to LEB2
- Select the class you want to leave
- Click "Setting" icon
- Select Leave Class
Note
- If you are a class owner, you you need to assign one of the teaching team to be a new class owner before leaving.
- If you are the only one in the class no matter if you are a class owner or not, you won't be able to leave the class.
- If you are a class owner, you can delete the class. In case there are more than one member of the teaching team in the class, delete all of them and then delete the class.
